Palm Beach County Bicycle Laws

PBSO has put out a brochure on Palm Beach County bicycle laws, pictured below. As Palm Beach bicycle accident lawyers, we deal with these Florida bike laws everyday. To summarize the regulations, Palm Beach County has the following bike laws:

  • All children under the age of 16 must wear a helmet (adults over 16 do not need to wear bike helmets in Florida).
  • All Palm Beach County bike riders must obey traffic laws if riding the bicycle in the street.
  • Bicyclists may ride on the sidewalk in Palm Beach County, but all cyclists must yield to pedestrians.
  • If riding at night in Palm Beach, bicyclists must use a bike light on the front of the bicycle and a red light on the back of the bicycle.
  • Cyclists who do not obey Palm Beach County bicycle laws may be ticketed and/or fined if they do not follow these Palm Beach County bike regulations.
